A 12″ Railway clock made for British Rail, in this case for Wimbledon station, provided by Stockall, Marples & Co in 1945. The clock has a solid oak case, the back being firmly attached to the front (not with pegs), which is typical for the period. There is a side and a bottom door to be able to remove and install the pendulum, as well as regulate the clock. The dial has its original painting: JOHN WALKER, 1, SOUTH MOLTON ST LONDON and is numbered 10736. The glass is set in a spun brass bezel
The eight-day spring-driven movement with fusee and achor escapement has been completely restored. It is therefore in good working order and comes with a two-year guarantee.
